Abstract

Agricultural digitalization is transforming the way farmers produce, manage information, interact with value chain actors, and access agricultural markets. The emergence of digital platforms, data analytics, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things technologies, and e-commerce creates opportunities to develop smarter and more interconnected agribusiness ecosystems. These technologies can reduce information asymmetry, improve farm-level decision-making, strengthen market connections, and support more efficient agricultural value chains. This study aims to examine the role of digital platforms and data-driven decision-making in strengthening farmer market access within smart agribusiness ecosystems. A qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted by reviewing scientific literature concerning digital agriculture, smart farming, digital platforms, agricultural market access, e-commerce, data-driven decision-making, and digital agribusiness ecosystems. The literature was identified from academic databases and selected based on relevance, publication quality, and alignment with the research objectives. The findings indicate that digital platforms can improve farmers' access to market information, buyers, agricultural inputs, financial services, and digital marketing channels. Data-driven decision-making further strengthens these benefits by providing farmers with timely information regarding production conditions, prices, weather, demand, and supply chain activities. However, the effectiveness of digital ecosystems remains influenced by digital literacy, connectivity, affordability, platform interoperability, trust, data governance, and farmers' ability to utilize digital services. The study concludes that smart agribusiness ecosystems can strengthen farmer market access when digital platforms and data-driven decision-making are integrated with inclusive infrastructure, appropriate farmer capabilities, and supportive institutional arrangements.
