Peer Review Process

Smart International Management Journal (SIMJ) implements the following peer review process policy:

  1. Authors are advised to check their manuscripts for plagiarism and ensure that there are no copyright violations prior to submission.
  2. Submitted manuscripts will undergo an initial screening by the Editor to assess their suitability with the journal’s scope, format, and template.
  3. During this initial stage, the Editor may communicate with the Author to request revisions before sending the manuscript to reviewers, or may reject the manuscript if it does not meet the basic requirements.
  4. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be sent to two reviewers for content evaluation using the single-blind review method.
  5. The review process evaluates novelty, objectivity, methodology, scientific impact, conclusions, and references.
  6. Reviewers may provide suggestions for improvement and/or recommend acceptance or rejection of the manuscript.
  7. The Editor considers the reviewers’ recommendations to determine whether the manuscript meets the journal’s publication standards.
  8. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
  9. The entire review process is conducted through the OJS system.
