Smart International Management Journal (SIMJ) expects authors to carefully consider their decision before submitting a manuscript. Submission to SIMJ indicates that the manuscript is original and is not simultaneously submitted or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript by submitting a formal written request to the Editorial Team. The request must provide a clear and reasonable justification and should be approved by all authors.
Before Peer Review
A manuscript may be withdrawn before peer review upon receipt of a formal request from the authors.
During Peer Review
Withdrawal during peer review is discouraged because editors and reviewers have already invested time and effort in evaluating the manuscript. Such requests will be considered by the Editorial Team based on the circumstances and justification provided.
After Acceptance
Withdrawal after acceptance is only considered in exceptional circumstances. The Editorial Team will evaluate the request and determine the appropriate action.
Duplicate or Simultaneous Submission
Authors must not submit a manuscript to another journal while it is under consideration by SIMJ. If simultaneous or duplicate submission is identified, the Editorial Team may reject the manuscript and take further action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy.
Withdrawal Request Procedure
A withdrawal request must include the manuscript title, manuscript identification number, reason for withdrawal, and confirmation that all authors agree to the withdrawal.
Processing Costs
If any legitimate and previously disclosed publication or processing costs have already been incurred, the author may be responsible for such costs in accordance with the journal's applicable policies. SIMJ will not impose undisclosed or unreasonable withdrawal charges.
Post-Publication Withdrawal
Once an article has been published, it cannot normally be withdrawn. If serious errors, ethical violations, plagiarism, or other circumstances affecting the integrity of the published record are subsequently identified, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction as appropriate.
SIMJ is committed to ensuring that manuscript withdrawal is handled fairly, transparently, and in accordance with principles of academic integrity and responsible scholarly publishing.
